Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has hit out at designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, saying his use of models dressed in the style of the late singer in his latest catwalk show was in 'bad taste'.

Jean-Paul Gaultier described Amy, who died last July, as a 'fashion icon'.

The show at Paris Fashion Week saw Gaultier's models sporting Amy's trademark beehive hairdo and heavy eye make-up to show off the designer's newest collection.

However, Mitch said Amy's family had been upset to see the pictures from the show, which took place just two days after the six-month anniversary of the singer's death, saying they had not been asked permission for the show to go ahead. 

'We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary of Amy's death.
